About
College :-
Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, one of the premier institutions of higher
education under the University of Delhi, was founded in 1967 by the
Delhi
Administration with the objective of imparting quality education,
and grooming young boys and girls as responsible future citizens of
the country. The college is named after one of India's bravest sons,
freedom fighter Shaheed Bhagat Singh. It has been imparting quality
education in humanities and social sciences since its inception, but
the forte of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College has remained commerce.
The college offers undergraduate programs leading
to B. E. Degree in six branches of engineering. The college admits
students on the basis of an entrance test (CET) common to all the
engineering colleges of the state of Punjab. The college is recognized
by AICTE and affiliated to punjab University, Chandigarh. However,
with the establishment of Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar,
all the engineering colleges/institutions located in the state of
Punjab have been admitted to the Punjab Technical University with
effect from.

Library and Reading Rooms
Bhagat Singh College library stocks about 55,000 volumes
and 80 periodicals which include descriptive and analytical and interpretative
works. Students have to observe the discipline of the library and
abide by the rules and regulations of the library notified from time
to time.
Career Enrichment
The Deptt. of Commerce generally holds an additional series of lectures
on management of taxation, Material Management, International Business,
Commercial and Financial Journalism, and Development of Small-Scale
Entrepreneurship. The objective of this series is to better equip
the students for career opportunities. |
