Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan was founded by Kulapati Dr.K.M.Munshi-a great
philosopher,statesman, educationist, solicitor and above all, a visionary.Established
nearly a decade before the advent of modern India, ‘The Bhavan’
as it is fondly called, was then and is still “A Mini-India.”
During the last six decades and more of its existence,
‘The Bhavan’ ‘ has blossomed into an ever-growing,
voluntary, apolitical national movement with an international outlook
devoted to life, literature and culture. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru,
when he visited ‘‘The Bhavan’’ in 1950 observed
‘The Bhavan’s’ programs cover all aspects of life
–from cradle to grave and beyond.
‘The Bhavan’s, from its modest beginnings, has grown
into a comprehensive all-India intellectual, cultural and educational
movement.
